A short tribute to the Mayor

Prayer services and masses were held all across Pittsburgh over the past days, praying for the mayor's health. Yesterday those churches held services in his remembrance. Parishioners at St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland weren't praying for a miracle; it's too late for that. Instead, they prayed for peace for deceased Mayor Bob O'Connor's family and loved ones.

Bob O’Connor became the 58th Mayor of Pittsburgh on January 3, 2006. A true son of Pittsburgh, Mayor O’Connor is or was spearheading Pittsburgh’s renewal into a vibrant 21st century American city. His platform highlights fiscal responsibility along with increased neighborhood and downtown development, more robust job growth, and improved service delivery. Bob O'Connor is suceded by Council President Luke Ravenstahl, 26, who becomes the youngest mayor in city history shortly after Mr. O'Connor passed away last night.
