The Mayor of Pittsburgh, Bob O’Connor has been fighting cancer for several weeks and yesterday the word on the street was that he died ... then last night the news explained that many of the local leaders - not to mention citizens are waiting for word on the condition of Mayor Bob O’Connor. In the eighth week in O’Connor’s battle with primary central nervous system lymphoma, the mood across the region is grim. Thursday, family members remained at his side, and several members of city council paid visits to UPMC Shadyside, where O’Connor has been undergoing treatment. The City of Pittsburgh awaits the final outcome.
